June and or Gerry
Morris will welcome you at North Ronaldsay pier or airfield and
transport you to Howar Cottage or to Nouster. As permanent
island residents we will be close by to help you settle in and, if
you wish, to chat about island life and its special challenges.
Both the cottage and Nouster
are self catering and close to the seashore.
Daily rates available with
breakfast basics included in the price. Eg. Orange juice, cereal,
bread, milk tea and coffee. Both properties sleep up to 4. Free
transport back to your plane or ferry.
No need to worry about
provisions on a remote Orkney island, we are always on hand to
supply your needs at cost. To make sure we have your requirements
send us a grocery list, we do a weekly shop at Tesco and the Co-op
in Kirkwall. Howar is a working farm and from both properties you
can even collect fresh eggs from our Scots Dumpy hens or beautiful
brown eggs from Welsummer hens, subject to the birds laying of
course.
We are retired biology teachers
who accidentally ended up with two properties on North
Ronaldsay. Nouster was architect designed and expensively
renovated to be our dream home on the island. During the long
renovation period the 80 acre Howar farm became available. This was
an opportunity to indulge our hobby of primitive sheep keeping we
couldn't ignore.
We are completely new to the
business of self catering and are looking forward to meeting our
first guests. Please let us know anything that you think would
make a stay in Howar or Nouster more attractive.
